The world gets very excited when there are medical breakthroughs and rightly so.  But here at New Wine Church we get excited when someone has a breakthrough of faith and begins to walk in the fullness of God's provision for not just spiritual, but also physical, emotional, and mental health.

 

God's word is spoken of in Proverbs 4: 22 as being medicine to all our flesh.  The word of God is the most powerful medicine available today, and it is capable of bringing lasting healing to every part of our lives without negative side effects.  It is safe even in massive doses, and when taken daily it can prevent sickness altogether and keep you in perfect health.

 

Psalm 107: 20 tells us that God sent His Word and healed.  According to Isaiah 53: 5 - 6 and 1 Peter 2: 24, healing is a fact as far as God is concerned. Healing belongs to us because Jesus provided for it at the Cross (Isaiah 53: 5 - 6).

 

As simple as it might sound, God's word contains the directions for divine health.  It's a powerful prescription that will work for anyone who will put it to work.

 

If you have received healing by the laying on of hands, following this prescription will help you maintain that healing.  If you have believed for healing, but are experiencing lingering symptoms, it will help you stand strong until you are completely symptom-free.  And if you are healthy now, it will help you stay that way--not just for a day or a week, but for the rest of your life!

 

Our confession of the Word of God calls for healing which is already ours but is not currently in manifestation in our bodies.

 

This is not about teaching against doctors or medicine, but you shouldn't depend on doctors or medicine alone to keep you healthy. There are still many diseases that medical science has not yet found a cure for. There is nothing wrong with consulting a doctor, and many lives are saved every year through the help of medical professionals. Also, there are medicines available today that are beneficial in aiding the body's healing process.

 

There is no wisdom in throwing your medicine away and relying on confession alone unless the Lord specifically directs you to do so. It takes time to renew your mind and develop your faith in God's Word.

 

If you are taking medicine, mix faith with it by saying, "I believe I receive my healing in Jesus' Name." Man's medicines will not heal you, but generally speaking they will not keep you from being healed either. That said, there are some medicines that have so many side effects they can sometimes seem worse than the disease itself.

 

It is always worthwhile to ask some questions and find out what you are taking. Most medicines will help alleviate the symptoms while you are applying God's principles concerning healing.

 

The things you are continually confessing eventually become a part of you. The truth is that God has provided healing for us through His Word, but we must learn to appropriate that healing by making the Word a part of our daily vocabulary.  Jesus said that when we continue in his word we will come to know and experience the truth and enjoy the freedom that truth brings.

 

Doctors may have told you that there is no longer any hope for you medically, but the word of God is full of hope.  The question is whose report will you believe?

 

"...they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saves them out of their distresses. He sent his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions."  (Psalm 107:19 - 20)

 

"So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I send it." (Isaiah 55: 11)

 

"I create the fruit of the lips; Peace, peace to him that is far off, and to him that is near, says the Lord; and I will heal him."  (Isaiah 57:19)

 

God says that his word will not return to him void, and so we are to return his word to him by speaking it out, and he will create the fruit of our lips.

 

Confessing God's Word will increase your faith.

 

Don't let it become a hit and miss proposition. Make it a practice to take God's medicine on a regular basis, just as you would any other medicine. Then it will be LIFE to you and HEALTH to your flesh.
